Welcome to the Guinea Pig Forum

Here you may post messages or questions pertaining to the keeping and care of these animals. Guinea pigs have a gentle nature and generally are not prone to biting. A happy guinea pig is a piggy that receives lots of human-piggy interaction. These animals prefer the company of their own kind and having two cavies is twice the fun of a single piggy.

Despite their name, guinea pigs are not pigs and are not native to Guinea. The South American Andes is their native home. In the western world, these animals have been popular pets since the 16th century.
