Welcome to the Mice as Pets Forum

Here you may post messages or questions pertaining to the keeping and care of these animals. The domestic pet mouse is the most common type of mouse available as a pet. Similar to other exotic animals, mice are nocturnal.

Mice are shy, social, and territorial. Because they are social animals, having two female mice is advisable. Two male mice will fight, and a male and female will keep reproducing.

Perhaps their strongest sense is that of smell. They sniff when exploring their environment.

One major drawback to having mice as pets is their short life span. Normally, they live only 1 to 3 years.
